Programme

Welcome

We are delighted to invite you to the 45th meeting of the Pancreatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland in Liverpool between the 21st and 22nd of November 2019. This year’s meeting has a diverse programme of clinical and basic science with an umbrella theme of novel trial design and translational research. We hope this will attract participation from surgeons, physicians, nurses, dieticians and basic scientists as well as managers involved in health care delivery and research. Although, as a society our concern is the endocrine and exocrine pancreas, the implications of pancreatic disease extend to other systems and our overarching theme of trial design is relevant to all.
As always, we will have sessions covering different aspects of pancreatology but in addition we will have cross cutting themes that link cancer, pancreatitis and diabetes. International speakers will join us to add to our own speakers from centres across the UK and Ireland.

Meetings focussing on the specific interests of dieticians and nurses will be taking place in parallel, planned so that all the groups can come together to take part in the main meeting to present and participate as audience members, particularly important in our planned panel discussions.
There will be poster sessions each day. Selected abstracts have been chosen for oral presentations taking place on both days. We look forward to welcoming you to the vibrant city of Liverpool, where we are sure you will have a great time in and out of the conference hall.
